MEET GEORGE 4!! **Please Note: This is a courtesy post for another rescue; different adoption fees/policy apply.
George is a very sweet boy and will love whoever gives him his forever home! He enjoys being outdoors and going on hikes. He is already trained in trail etiquette and basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, come). He is a fast learner and would benefit from further training in a home and in public.
George unfortunately first came to YHS on a bite quarantine. He becomes protective of his home so when a neighbor teenager entered the house unexpectedly, he bit him on the calf. Our behavior department worked with him some but never saw any of these behaviors at our shelter. He is timid in this environment but quickly learned basic commands and how to walk on a leash well. Our volunteers enjoyed taking him on a hiking trail that runs adjacent to our facility. He was adopted out but has unfortunately returned to us a second time on bite quarantine. His adopters informed us that he was a bolter and would run out the door at any opportunity. One of these bolting episodes led to him biting a teenager on a bike, again on the calf. We believe that with training and the proper adopter who will continue training and working on his various issues, he will make a very good dog.
